Getting rid of the original
cat iron manifolds
is the first thing we need to do

With very little room to
work in and no ground clearance i decided to make
try/y design headers on this car with merge collectors
instead of the slip on style
When making custom pipes i always make the hard
side first, [most cases drivers side]
Move Over Image
the left side has more
room but the headers needs to flow the same as
the right side and look similar

i have used interlocking
flanges so there will be no gaskets required at
these joints

The
pipes from the headers are twin 2" which
merge into a twin 2 1/2" free flowing mild
steel system Because of very little ground clearance
the exhaust tends to get knocked around so i recommended
a mild steel exhaust system, no point spending
money on stainless steel on this car
The exhaust runs very close to the floor so heat
shields are fitted to protect the floor from heat
transfer from the exhaust

the four original exhaust mounts to support the
mufflers were salvaged and reused, flanging the
muffler enables the full system to be remove in
under ten minutes

rear resonators have also been fitted to
help reduce the noise without hindering performance,
the chrome tips are 3"
